Last weekend I had the awesome opportunity to document (and attend) a screening of The Empowerment Project as hosted by Girls in the Know.
This documentary film follows in the footsteps of a crew of female filmmakers as they drove across America from the West Coast to the East Coast to empower, encourage and inspire a brand new generation of amazing women with the goal of encouraging them to follow their dreams and career ambitions. The documentary film highlights amazing women leaders in so many different industries and walks of life.
The moderator & panel included Emily Rau (St. Louis, MO KMOV anchor), Khalia Collier (Owner and GM of the St. Louis Surge Women’s Professional Basketball Team), Chelsea Crockett (Creator and Star of BeautyLisciousInsider), Danielle Smith (Author, digital correspondent, lifestyle entrepreneur, spokesperson, media personality) and Jennifer Cissell (Career with P&G in Engineering & Manufacturing).
So many special moments were shared during the event. Girlfriends were giggling. Caregivers and Daughters were hugging, connecting, and sharing secrets. Amazing women were sharing their thoughts and stories of how they chased their dreams, and encouraging all of us to do the same.
One of my favorite parts of the event was seeing everyone who attended write down on their program guide what they would do if they were “fearless”. Afterwards I had the opportunity to snag photos for everyone to remember that moment by. Not only do we need to dream it but we need to write it and be reminded of it. All. The. Time. I hope these lovely ladies touch and hold and look at these images and remember their dreams.
I of course had to ask myself the question… What would I do if I weren’t afraid to fail? Hands down, I would be a full-time pro photographer. I’m working on it. 😉 Part-time is progress!

Probably off-topic, but definitely there is harm for your vision sitting all day at the computer.
